I'm a nerd, a complete and total nerd. But, I know I'm not alone. Every school year that I can remember, at about this time - is when I experience true euphoria.
Then, I graduated college and it stopped...until...I had Riley.
I took Riley and Ronan shopping this afternoon for her 1st grade school supplies and you would have thought I had full reign of the Louis Vuitton store...LOL. I love school supplies. I love the "new-ness" of them. I love that there are all these cool containers to store them in and I love all the cool gadgets kids can have these days.
We bought all the necessities and then a few extras. No, not for me...but for the kid in her class that might not be able to get everything they need or for the teacher to have as extras. I mean, how could you pass up a 24-pack of Crayola crayons for only $0.22 or the 5-pack of notebooks for $0.50 or the 2-pack of glue sticks (that dry invisible!) for $0.74. Unbelievable.
I do have to voice a complaint I have, which is the fact that I have to purchase all these supplies, yet, I can't label them as Riley's. I'm not sure why they do this, other than to say that maybe they all share the supplies...but if I'm buying them specifically for my child, then I feel that she should be using them. And no, I'm not trying to sound greedy (we bought extras of almost everything for goodness sake!) but I know that we also spent about $60 and I want to make sure that she's getting to use it all...is that too much to ask?

OMG this cracks me up!!! You'd be a perfect fit in our family. We always have BAGS of school supplies and more glue sticks than should be allowable by law!
....1st grade?...how exciting!!!
i love school supplies too! I have a notebook fetish. I didn't bring one with me to Ohio just so I could go buy one. After all, I really need it for work, right? and...my school starts 8/26 so maybe I need two notebooks.
LOL :o) I'm the same way :) And I write their names on everything ... I didn't realize we weren't suppose to till I read it on the 2peas message board. oops :o)
